The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) conducted Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) Exam on Feb. 21, 2016. The objective of conducting this exam was to bring national standards and benchmark of teacher quality in the recruitment process. It would also induce teacher education institutions and students from these institutions to further improve their performance standards.
CTET Exam Pattern
Central board of secondary Education (CBSE) conducts following two papers for CTET, each of 150 marks and of duration 2:30 hrs:
Paper I (Primary Stage): Passing this paper is the essential qualification to be teachers of Classes I to V.
Paper II (Elementary Stage): Passing this paper is the essential qualification to be teachers of Classes VI to VIII
CTET Paper II (for Classes VI to VIII) Elementary Stage: It was conducted during 9:30 am to 12 pm. The overall level of this paper was moderate too. There were 150 multiple choice questions and the maximum marks were 150, which was as expected.
