Delhi University to Organize an Inter-college ‘Great Debate’

    The Delhi University has joined hands with the British High Commission to organize the "Great Debate", an inter-college debate competition for its students on 09 January 2014.

    The top two winners of the debate will receive a package for a week long "study tour" in the UK in mid-February. The tour will "include visits to historical sites, cultural events, interaction with experts on a wide range of subjects", announced DU registrar.

    He further says in his announcement that "the objective of this Great Debate is to celebrate the tradition of debate and discussion in Indian and the UK."

    As per the Debate Schedule, the preliminary rounds will be held at the North Campus conference centre on 09 January and, on the same afternoon, five qualifying teams will compete for the top two positions at the Vice Regal Lodge before the University’s Vice-Chancellor, the UK High Commissioner and a panel of judges.

    The debate topics will be made known on the university website just a day before the commencement of the debate, that is, on 8 January 2014.
