Delhi University released their first and second cut off list on 26 and 29 June 2012 respectively. With sixty percent seats already full in major colleges , the third cut off list may not be able to provide any respite to the students.
While most colleges saw sky touching percentage for Commerce subjects, Science and humanities weren’t far behind, with History (hons) touching an imaginable 99%. Like always, BCom (Hons) and Economic (Hons) stood at the peak points with the highest cut off . Hindu College came up with a near to flawless 99.25% for BCom (hons)where as SRCC stood at an interestingly low scale i.e. 96.5%-98.5% in the first list. After receiving criticism last year for bringing in a whopping 100% as their cut for BCom, SRCC seems to be on a path of low key this season. Hansraj College stood straight at 96.25%-98.25%, bringing in a hike of 0.25% in comparison to the last year.
While the drop in most top colleges were nothing remarkable, students can still see the brighter side and get admissions in a number of colleges that are off campus. The other good news that sailed across was, English (hons) students may still have options handy. There is a dip of up to 8% in the CATE cutoff, also the candidates can expect a dip of 1-3% in the general cut off.
With all the hoopla in and around the cut off lists, the third cut off list is not only a cauldron of mystery but also some hope for the students who are still waiting to get lucky. The third cut off list for 2012, Delhi University will be released on 4 July 2012.
