  • Opening date for Online Registration: 7 May 2012 from 2 pm
  • Closing date for Online Registration: 21 May 2012 till 4 pm
  • Tentative date for written test: 10 June 2012

  • Start of training programme (provisional): 1st week of September 2012

Eligibility Criteria for recruitment in ECIL 2012

Educational Qualification: First Class Engineering Degree with minimum 65% marks in aggregate (55% for SC/STs) from AICTE approved Colleges/ Recognized Indian Universities in the relevant discipline.

Age Limit (as on 30 April 2012): Maximum 25 years

Selection Procedure for recruitment in ECIL 2012: The selection process will be through a written test and interview.

Written Test: The written test (objective type) is of 2 hours duration on engineering degree syllabus in respective discipline through process of OMR sheet. The written test will be held at the following cities spread all over India: Ahmadabad, Bangalore, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Delhi, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Patna & Trivandrum

Interview: Candidates short listed on the basis of their performance in the written test will be required to appear for an interview at Hyderabad. The date, time and venue of interview will be intimated by mail/ SMS.


  • During training (one year training period): The selected candidates will undergo training for a period of one year on a consolidated stipend of Rs 25,790 per month. They are also entitled for PF and subsidized transport & canteen facility, etc.,as per rules of the Corporation
  • On successful completion of training: Engineer (Contract) for a period of three years with total emoluments of Rs 36,690 per month, during 1st year, Rs 37,810 per month, during 2nd year & Rs 38,950 per month, during 3rd year (for all Metros) which includes variable DA and fringe benefits under Cafeteria approach.
  • After Completion of Training: On successful completion of contract appointment, they will be absorbed as Technical Officer in the scale of pay of Rs 16,400-3%-40,500/- with total emoluments of Rs 40,140 (with variable DA & Fringe benefits under cafeteria approach). Further, on completion of one year service as Technical Officer, they will be considered for promotion to the post of Senior Technical Officer, in the scale of pay of Rs 20,600-3%-46,500 depending on their performance and suitability

Bond in ECIL: The selected candidates are required to execute a Surety & Indemnity Bond on separate non-judicial stamp paper of Rs100 each to serve the Corporation for a period of 4 years (1 year as Trainee +3 years as Engineer - Contract). The amount payable for breach of contract is Rupees Four Lakhs only.

How to Apply for recruitment in ECIL 2012

  • Interested candidates having prescribed qualification must apply in the format given in http://ecil.co.in/

Application Fee: Candidates belonging to General/ OBC category need to pay examination fee of Rs 200 and no fee will be charged from SC/ ST category candidates. The fee needs to be paid in the form of Pay-in-Slip available on the website. State Bank of India has been authorized to collect the registration fee, in a specially opened Account Number 31102144119.

On receipt of the money the bank will issue a unique Journal Number, Branch Name and Branch Code of the bank collecting the money. This journal number, Branch Name and the branch code are to be filled up by the candidate during online "final submission".

  • Fill in the online form with all the relevant details.
  • After applying on-line, the candidate is required to take the print out of registered on-line application form with system generated application number without fail and may be retained by him/ her.
  • Candidates should note down their application number for future reference. The candidate can take re-print of his/ her registered on-line application form before the last date for On-line registration.
  • Write the system generated on-line application number on the ECIL copy of the Pay-in-slip form. The online application form need not be sent by post to ECIL.
