Common Management Admission Test is an AICTE approved entrance exam, conducted twice a year, for enabling various AICTE approved Management Institutions across the country to select suitable students for admission to their Management programs. The test also eases things for the students by eliminating the burden of appearing in multiple management entrance examinations.
Eligibility Criteria:
For PGDM, MBA and similar programs: Recognized Bachelor’s Degree of minimum 3 years duration with minimum 50% marks (45% marks for candidates belonging to reserved category)
For PGCM programs: Recognized Bachelor’s Degree of minimum 3 years duration
For Executive PGDM program: Any recognized Bachelors degree of minimum 3 years duration with minimum 50% marks (45% marks for candidates belonging to reserved category) and a minimum of 5 years relevant managerial / supervisory experience.
NOTE: Final year graduation students awaiting results / whose result will be declared before commencement of admission for 2014 are eligible to apply.
For foreign nationals: Eligibility will be as per recognition and equivalence standards notified by Association of Indian Universities.
AICTE conducts CMAT twice every year -- first in the month of September and second in the month of February. An All India Merit List is prepared for both the examinations and better of the two scores is used for admission to various management institutes.
To facilitate eligible NRIs / PIOs and foreign nationals seeking admission in various Management Institutions in India, the AICTE has decided to conduct CMAT in Foreign Countries starting this year. As such, interested eligible foreign candidates can appear for September 2013 CMAT at five cities / locations in 5 foreign countries.
The first round of CMAT for admission for academic year 2014-15 will be conducted for five days from 26 to 30 September 2013.
