Employees’ State Insurance Corporation, Kolkata issued notification for recruitment to 12 posts of Librarian Gr.I (1 post), Library Assistant (6 posts) & Stenographers (5 posts) in the Offices of ESI Corporation, West Bengal Region. Interested candidates can apply online till 24 June 2013.

Selection Procedure:

For the post of Librarian Gr I / Library Assistant: Selection will be done on the basis of candidates’ performance in the written test followed by Interview.


Part-I: Written Examination (100 marks)

Part-II: Interview (20 marks)


For the post of Stenographer: Selection will be done on the basis of candidates’ performance in the Written Test. The written test will have three parts:


\ Part - I: Multiple Choice Objective Type test. The written test will consist of one paper containing 2 parts.

The questions will be set in English and Hindi and the level of difficulty will be as per educational qualification.


Part-II: Stenography test for 10 minutes with a speed of 80 words per minute in English or Hindi and transcription of the same on computer for one hour


Part-III: Computer Skill Test.

The Test will comprise of three parts :

Part A- Preparation of two Power Point Presentations / Slides on MS-Power Point - 10 Marks

Part B - Typing a letter / passage / paragraph of about 150-200 words in MS-Word - 20 Marks

Part C - Preparation of Table / Database in MS-Excel - 20 Marks


Candidates will be given the text / matter in the Question Paper which they will have to type / reproduce in the Answer Sheet including formatting of text and use of formulae etc. as per instruction given in the Question Paper. The 30 minutes test will be of 50 marks -- candidates will be required to answer / solve all the three parts in 30 minutes. Candidates will have to appear for the Test either in English or Hindi language.


Candidates will be allowed to appear for Part-II & Part-III of Stenography Test / Computer Skill Test on the basis of their performance in Part-I examination.


There will be negative marking of 0.25 marks for every wrong answer.


Application Fees: Non-refundable application fees have to be deposited in any branch of Union Bank of India, in a/c No.43901010036771, through a fee payment Challan (in triplicate) which can be downloaded from ESIC website



Amount of fees to be paid:

(a) For Librarian Gr. I and Stenographer: Rs.225

(b) For Library Assistant: Rs.125


Candidates depositing fee in Union Bank of India are advised to confirm before leaving the Bank counters that the Transaction Id, Date of deposit & Branch Code are clearly visible on the Challan copies (Candidate copy & ESIC copy) as all these details are to be filled in the online application.


Application fee can also be paid through Demand Draft / Banker's Cheque drawn on State Bank of India

in favour of “The Regional Director, ESI Corporation, Kolkata”, payable at Kolkata.


SC / ST / PWD / Departmental / Female Candidates & Ex Servicemen are exempted from payment of application fees.


How to Apply:  Interested eligible candidates can apply online through ESI website www.esicwestbengal.org till the prescribed last date.


On successful registration, candidates are required to take a print out of the application form with the Unique Registration No.and send it along with ESIC copy of fee payment Challan / Demand Draft to “The Regional Director, Regional Office, ESI Corporation, 5/1, Grant Lane, Kolkata-700012” so as to reach the concerned authority by prescribed last date.


Application form can also be dropped in the box kept in the premises of Regional office by the prescribed last date, Demand Draft/Banker's Cheque should be pinned / clipped at the top of the application form.


On the envelope, candidates should super scribe “Application for the Post of_”.
