Courses and Qualifications
Several courses are being offered for the study of event management. Diploma in event management (DEM) course is of one year duration, and minimum eligibility for admission in this course is graduation in any stream. Post Graduate Diploma in Event Management (PGDEM) course is also of one year duration, and the eligibility condition is also similar, i.e. graduation. In addition, certificate and diploma courses of 6 months duration are also being offered. Eligibility for these is 12th pass. Most institutions provide the facility of part-time courses. Therefore, you can do these courses along with your job or other courses. Now, MBA degree is also being offered in this field that is, naturally, the most effective. Currently these courses are not accessible everywhere. In such a scenario, you can learn the nuances of this field by working as a trainee in some event management company. With experience, you can find a job of your choice, or even start your own event management company.

Scope
At present more than 300 event management companies are working in India. It is estimated that this business is growing at an annual rate of 60-70 percent.
Earning
Freshers can easily earn minimum of 10,000 rupees per month. If you are fortunate enough to get job in some big firm, 15000 or even more can be earned. Salary of experienced event managers is in lakhs! You should also think of becoming an entrepreneur and open your own company.
