From the recent academic session four new courses would be introduced by Jamia Milia Islamia. The admission for the session would begin from Monday. The four courses which are going to get introduced in the present session are, gender studies, public health, biophysics and disaster management.
According to Jamia spokesperson Mukesh Ranjan, “Four new courses- MA in Gender Studies to be offered by Sarojini Naidu Centre for Women’s Studies, MSc in Biophysics (Centre for Interdisciplinary Research in Basic Sciences), PG Diploma in Public Health (Department of Social Work) and Diploma in Disaster Management (Department of Geography) - will be introduced from the academic year 2015-16.”
He further added, “In addition to these academic courses, new specialties have been introduced in Master in Physiotherapy (MPT) programme such as ‘Neurology’ and ‘Cardiopulmonary’. These two specialties are in addition to the existing ones such as ‘Sports’ and ‘Orthopedics’.”
Admission procedure to various undergraduate and postgraduate courses has already started in the university. This year the undergraduate and postgraduate courses would offer options for online application process. The online procedure is expected to help students apply for the various undergraduate, postgraduate and diploma courses rather easily and would assist students not to stand in queues. This would help parents as well as students to undergo hassle-free admissions from this year onwards. The last date of application for the courses in Jamia Milia Islamia is set to be 1 May 2015 for this academic year.
