The Ayurvedic Council of India has given approval to four Ayurveda colleges in Gujarat, paving way for admissions to them. In total, there are six Ayurveda colleges in the state, out of them two colleges in Ahmedabad and Vadodara each are yet to get approval from the council.
The admissions in these newly approved colleges will be started around 15 October 2013, said the Officials.
Earlier, it was anticipated that the admissions would be conducted by each college. But, after hectic representations, the state government has resorted to give nod to the Admission Committee for Professional Medical Courses only.
The committee has already got over with two rounds of the admission process and the third round will now be started around 15 October 2013. However, the final date is yet to be announced.
