In order to provide a holistic learning experience for all the civil service aspirants who are going through their coaching period in the university’s Resident Coaching Academy (RCA) in Jamia Milia Islamia, they would now get a separate hostel while they are undergoing the coaching from the academy.
The Chairman of UGC, Ved Prakash inaugurated the 154 seater hostel that has been constructed with a total cost of 7 crore rupees for the candidates in the RCA. The RCA is run by Centre for Coaching and Career Planning wing of Jamia and it provides coaching for civil services aspirants. Currently there are 200 students who belong to minorities, SC and ST communities and 50 seats are reserved for girls who are learning at the academy.
The students who get selected for the free coaching at the academy have to go through a national-level written test along with personal interviews. Those candidates who get selected for the coaching programme also get free hostel accommodation. Till date, the students need to get accommodated in various university hostels depending on the availability of seats in the hostels.
