Himachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (HPPSC) issued notification for Himachal Pradesh Administrative Combined Competitive Examination (HPCCE), 2012 for filling up 9 posts of Himachal Pradesh Administrative Service and 4 posts of Himachal Pradesh Police Service. Knowledge of customs, manners and dialects of Himachal Pradesh and suitability for appointment in the peculiar conditions prevailing in the Pradesh is a desirable qualification.
Examination Fees: SC / ST / OBC candidates of Himachal Pradesh and Ex-Servicemen of HP relieved from Defence Services on their own request before completion of normal tenure have to deposit Rs.63, all others have to deposit Rs.250, as examination fee at any branch of Punjab National Bank through an e-Challan generated after applying online for the post through Commission’s website. Transaction No., Branch Code and date of Receipt given by the PNB on candidate’s copy of e-Challan are required to be updated before the last date in the same Login ID in the Fee Details link.
[Ex-Servicemen of HP, who are relieved from Defence Services after completion of normal tenure) / Blind of HP / Visually Impaired of HP are exempted from payment of fees].
Selection Procedure: Selection to Himachal Pradesh Administrative Combined Competitive Examination will be done in 3 successive stages:
Stage – I: Preliminary Examination;
Stage – II: Main Written Examination;
Stage – III: Viva-Voce.
Preliminary Examination: This will be of Objective Type Multiple choice for which candidates will be required to mark the answers in a two parts Carbon less OMR Answer Sheet -- handover the upper part of the OMR answer sheet to the invigilator and take away the candidate’s copy. The key of answers of both the objective type Papers will be displayed on Office Website, in due course of time.
Candidates should note that there will be penalty (negative marking) for wrong answers marked by a candidate in the Objective Type Question Papers.
The List of provisionally admitted / rejected candidates will be uploaded on HPPSC website and status of application will also be available against their user ID for the information of the candidates.
Provisionally admitted candidates will be issued an e-Admit Card three weeks before the commencement of the examination against their USER-ID. The candidate will download e-Admit Card from their USER-ID for admission / appear in Examination.
Candidates can also download the admit cards along with instructions for appearing in the HPAS (Preliminary) examination-2012 from the official website http://www.hp.gov.in/hppsc.
Preliminary examination will have 2 papers of 200 marks each. Paper-I will be of General Studies (Code No.01) and Paper-II will be on Aptitude Test (Code No.02). Both the papers will have 100 objective type (multiple choice) questions. Duration of the Papers will be two hours each.
Main Written Examination: Candidates qualifying the Preliminary Examination will have to apply again, in the Detailed Application Form for Main Examination.
The number of candidates to be admitted to the Main Examination will be about 20 times the total approximate number of vacancies. The result of preliminary examination will be uploaded on HPPSC website and notification for applying for main examination will be issued. It will be available on HPPSC website.
VIVA-VOCE: Candidates clearing the main examination will be called for viva-voce
The number of candidates to be called for viva-voce test will be three times the total number of vacancies.
Result of the candidates qualifying for the viva-voce, on the basis of performance in main examination, will be uploaded on HPPSC website.
Original certificates will have to be produced at the time of interview for verification.
Final selection will be done on the basis of candidates’ performance in the main examination and viva-voce.
Preliminary Examination will be held at ‘Shimla, Solan, Mandi, Dharamsala, Nahan, Una, Hamirpur and Chamba’.
The centre for Main examination will be Shimla only.
If any candidate appears at a centre other than those indicated by the Commission in his/her Admit Card, the papers of such a candidate will not be evaluated and his/her candidature will be liable to Cancellation.
How to Apply: Candidates can apply online through the website till 4 February 2013 (2359 hrs) after which the link will be disabled.
Candidates qualifying for the Main Examination will be required to download the Detailed Application Form from HPPSC website, fill it, attach attested photocopies of required documents and send it to the Commission’s office on or before the last date for receipt of application as mentioned in the notice for inviting main application form.
More than one application from a candidate giving different centres will not be accepted in any case. If a candidate sends more than one completed applications, the Commission will accept only one application at their discretion.
- Marks obtained by the candidate in Preliminary Examination will not be counted for determining their final order of merit.
- The Centre-wise list of admitted candidates and timetable for Main examination will be uploaded on Office Website.
- Intimation with regard to admission / rejection and date of commencement of Main Examination will be send through SMS / e-mail.
- If any visually impaired candidate requires scribes, he / she has to request for the same in writing to the Commission immediately after receipt of his / her roll number. Such applications will be entertained on merit and as per the rules.
