IMT Ghaziabad Introduces CnPI for MBA Admission 2015 after eliminating Group Discussion

IMT Ghaziabad has reportedly eliminated the Group Discussion (GD) from the final round of admission and has substituted it with a new process called the CnPI process. The CnPI process is  scheduled to begin from February 1, 2015 just a day after the admission application process at Institute of Management Technology (IMT) Ghaziabad closes i.e. on January 31, 2015.

What is CnPI Process?

CnPI stands for Communication and Personal Interview Process. It is further divided into two parts:-

• Cn:- It denotes communication and in this section, candidates will be exposed to a tool called “Thematic Exposition”. This will be done on a topic ranging from social, economic and current affairs. This will be a written communication test (WCT), where candidates would be given a topic ranging from 1-3 lines, on which they will be expected to develop a piece of 250 words within 20 minutes. Topic would be provided to the candidates on the day of CnPI at the venue/center itself.  It will help the interviewer to understand the Language Proficiency, Coherence, Thought Process, Critical and Logical thinking skills of the candidates.
• PI:- After the completion of Written Communication test, there will be a Personal Interview with a panel for 15-20 minutes in which candidates will be expected to discuss on a wide range of topics which tests their skills of oral communication, analytical and leadership skills, work experience, domain knowledge.

Previously, FMS also made a similar decision of not conducting Group Discussion. In place of it, they decided to conduct an Extempore and Personal Interview after that.
