Indian Maritime University (IMU) was established as a Central University on 14th November, 2008 with the primary objective to promote advanced knowledge through facilitation of maritime studies, training, research and extension work with focus on emerging areas like oceanography, maritime history, maritime laws, maritime security, transportation, environmental studies and other related fields, and to achieve excellence in these.
IMU notified recruitment of 65 teaching faculty -- Professor, Associate Professor and Assistant Professor in 5 disciplines for Chennai, Cochin, Kandla/Gujarat, Kolkata, Mumbai, and Visakhapatnam campuses.

Selection Procedure: Final selection would be done on the basis of candidate academic record, previous experience and performance in the interview. Call letters for attending interview will be sent only to the short-listed candidates. IMU may offer a lower post to a candidate even though he has applied for a higher post.
IMU follows the reservation policy as per Government of India norms.Faculty can be transferred anywhere in India [existing IMU campuses/new campuses that may be set up in future.]Possession of prescribed qualification/experience does not ensure that the candidate would be called for interview.
