The Indian Navy issued notification inviting applications from unmarried male candidates to join the Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala, Kerala under the (10+2) Cadet (B.Tech) Entry Scheme (Permanent Commission) course commencing – December 2014.

The Indian Navy issued notification inviting applications from unmarried male candidates to join the Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala, Kerala under the (10+2) Cadet (B.Tech) Entry Scheme (Permanent Commission) course commencing – December 2014. Interested candidates should apply online through the Indian Navy website on or before 23 June 2014 and print-out of the application should reach the IHQ MoD (Navy) by 3 July 2014.

Course details

Course: (10+2) Cadet (B.Tech.) Entry Scheme (Permanent Commission) course

Age limit: between 17 years and 19½ years (i.e. those born between 2 Jul 1995 & 1 Jan 1998 -- both dates inclusive).

Educational Qualification: Passed Senior Secondary Examination (10+2 Pattern) or equivalent with at least 70% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM) and at least 50% marks in English (either in Class X or Class XII).

Physical Standards

Height & Weight:

Minimum height: 157cms with correlated weight as per age.

Eye Sight: for distant vision: 6/6, 6/9 correctable to 6/6, 6/6 with glasses.

Candidate should not be colour/ night blind.

Selection Procedure: Selection would be done through a two-staged process – Stage-I and Stage-II

Stage I test -- Intelligence Tests, Picture Perception and Discussion. The Tests will be conducted on the second day of arrival at SSB.

Those qualifying the Stage I will be allowed to appear for Stage II.

Stage II Tests – Psychological Testing, Group Testing and Interview. The Stage II would last 4 days.

Successful candidates in Stage II will undergo Medical examination that would take around 3-5 days.

Integrated Headquarters, Ministry of Defence (Navy) would short-list candidates for the selection process based on their performance in Senior Secondary Examination (10+2 equivalent). Shortlisted candidates will be issued call up for Services Selection Board (SSB) interviews. The interviews are scheduled to be held at Bangalore/ Bhopal/ Coimbatore/ Visakhapatnam during August and November 2014.
