JEE Advanced 2019 Exam Postponed to May 27 due to LS Elections, Check complete details here

IIT Roorkee has rescheduled the exam schedule of JEE Advanced 2019 because of the Lok Sabha Elections 2019. As per the order by Supreme Court, candidates of 25 years or older can also apply for JEE Advanced 2019.

The exam conducting body for JEE Advanced 2019 i.e., IIT Roorkee has shifted the exam date of JEE Advanced 2019 due to Lok Sabha Elections. Earlier it was scheduled to be conducted on 19 May 2019. But after declaring the schedule of the general elections by the Election Commission of India, the Joint Admission Board (JAB) 2019 have taken a decision to shift the exam date of JEE Advanced 2019 to May 27. The complete schedule for JEE Advanced 2019 is given below:

The following message is displaying of the official website of JEE Advanced 2019.

“In view of the clash in the dates of JEE (Advanced) 2019 and the last phase of General Elections 2019, the examination date of JEE (Advanced) 2019 has been shifted to May 27, 2019 (Monday). The examination will be held in India and abroad, on May 27, 2019 (Monday), in the following two shifts: Paper 1 (09:00 to 12:00 IST) and Paper 2 (14:00 to 17:00 IST).”

As per the schedule of Lok Sabha Elections 2019 released by the Election Commission of India, the election in Bihar, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, West Bengal, Chandigarh, Uttar Pradesh and Himachal Pradesh will also be conducted on 19 May.

About the exam:

JEE Advanced is the second stage of Joint Entrance Examination for admission into the engineering programs of the prestigious IITs or the Indian Institutes of Technology. This exam is conducted by the 7 zonal IITs on a rotational basis as per the guidelines of IIT exam governing body - Joint Admission Board (JAB). It is the most difficult and popular engineering entrance examination among aspirants. There are a total of 23 IITs in India with approximately 11279 seats. Every year, one of the IITs conducts JEE Advanced for admissions to Indian Institutes of Technology offering engineering courses.
