In this article you will find JEE Main Solved Practice Paper Set-I for JEE Main Entrance Examination 2018.
Solving Practice Paper is very important for all JEE aspirants before appearing for JEE Main Entrance Examination 2018. Aspirants should attempt more and more practice paper to increase their speed and accuracy.
About the Paper:
After the detailed analysis of previous year papers and the latest syllabus of JEE Main Examination, our Subject Experts prepared this Practice Paper for all JEE aspirants. This Practice paper consists of 90 questions and the time allotted to complete the paper is 3 hours. There are three sections- Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Each section consists of 30 questions.
Physics
The Physics section of the JEE Main 2017 sample paper consists of 30 questions. For each correct answer you will be award +4 marks and for each incorrect answer one mark will be deducted. Zeo mark will be awarded for unattempted questions.
Few sample questions from the Physics Practice Paper are given below:
Q. In Young's double slit experiment when sodium light of wavelength 5893 A° is used, then 62 fringes are seen in the field of view. Instead, if violet light of wavelength 4358 A° is used then the number of fringes that will be seen in the field of view will be
(a) 54
(b) 64
(c) 74
(d) 84
Sol. (d)
Q. A positively charged particle is released from rest in an uniform electric field. The electric potential energy of the charge
(a) remains a constant because the electric field is uniform
(b) increases because the charge moves along the electric field
(c) decreases because the charge moves along the electric field
(d) decreases because the charge moves opposite to the electric field
Sol. (c)
The direction of electric field is always perpendicular to one equipotential surface maintained at high electrostatic potential to other equipotential surface maintained at low electrostatic potential. The positively charged particle experiences electrostatic force along the direction of electric field i.e., from high electrostatic potential to low electrostatic potential. Thus, the .work is done by the Electric field on the positive charge, hence electrostatic potential energy of the positive charge decreases
Chemistry
The Chemistry section of the JEE Main 2017 sample paper consists of 30 questions. For each correct answer you will be award +4 marks and for each incorrect answer one mark will be deducted. Zeo mark will be awarded for unattempted questions.
Few sample questions from the Chemistry Practice Paper are given below:
Q. Which statement about aspirin is not true?
(a) Aspirin belongs to narcotic analgesics
(b) It is effective in relieving pain
(c) It has anti-blood clotting action
(d) It-s a neurologically active drug
Sol. (a)
Aspirin can be prepared as follows
Aspirin inhibits the synthesis of compounds known as prostaglandins which stimulate inflammation in the tissues and cause pain. So, it is effective in. relieving pain.
Beside this, aspirin has many other effects such as reducing fever (antipyretic) and preventing blood platelet coagulation. Because of this anti-blood clotting action, it is widely used to prevent heart attacks. It does not make a person addictive as it is non-narcotic drug.
Q. There are 14 elements in actinoid series. Which of the following elements does not belong to this series?
(a) U
(b) Np
(c) Tm
(d) Fm
Sol. (c)
Tm (Z = 69) do not belong to actinoid series. The actinoid series is with atomic numbers 90 to 103. Thulium (Tm) has atomic number 69 belongs to lanthanoids (4 f series).
Mathematics
Mathematics is one of the scoring subjects in any engineering entrance examination. The marking scheme and number of questions are exactly same as other section of the sample paper.
Few sample questions from the Mathematics Practice Paper are given below:
Q. Tangents are drawn from a point on the circle x2 + y2 = a2 to the circle x2 + y2 = b2. If the chord of contact of these tangents touches the circle x2 + y2 = c2, then a, b, c are in
(a) A.P.
(b) H.P.
(c) G.P.
(d) none of these
Sol.(c)
Q. Area of the region bounded by the curve y = cos x between x = 0 and x = π is
(a) 2 sq units
(b) 4 sq units
(c) 3 sq units
(d) 1 sq units
Sol.(a)
