Jawaharlal Nehru University (Administration Branch-I), New Delhi issued notification inviting applications for recruitment to 24 non-teaching posts (2 posts of Deputy Registrar and 11 posts each of Section Officer and Personal Assistant. Interested candidates should apply online through JNU website www.jnu.ac.in and send the print-out of the online submitted application to the University’s office till 7 April 2014.

Total vacancies: 24 posts
1. Deputy Registrar: 2 posts (1 post will be filled up on deputation/ absorption basis)
Group: Group A
Pay Scale: Pay Band-3 of Rs.15600-39100 plus Grade Pay Rs.7600
Maximum Age limit: 45 years (as on 7 April 2014)
Qualification: Master’s degree or equivalent with Nine years experience as Assistant Professor in the AGP of Rs.6000 and above with experience in educational administration, Or Comparable experience in research establishment and/or other institutions of higher education, Or Five years administrative experience as Assistant Registrar or in an equivalent post.
2. Section Officer: 11 posts
Group: Group B
Pay Scale: Pay Band-2 of Rs.9300-34800 plus Grade Pay Rs.4600
Maximum Age limit: 40 years (as on 7 April 2014)
Qualification: Graduate with at least 5 years experience in Administration/Accounts/Secretarial work in a junior supervisory post in a University/Government/ Public Sector undertaking/Corporate Institution of repute and Knowledge of Computer Operation;
3. Personal Assistant: 11 posts
Group: Group B
Pay Scale: Pay Band-2 of Rs.9300-34800 plus Grade Pay Rs.4200
Maximum Age limit: 30 years (as on 7 April 2014)
Qualification: Sr. Sec. School Certificate (10+2) with proficiency in shorthand with a speed of 120 w.p.m. and two years experience as Stenographer and Knowledge of Computer operation
[No upper age limit for JNU departmental candidate for Group-A posts and 5 years age relaxation in upper age limit for JNU departmental candidates for Group-B posts]
Selection Procedure: Selection of candidate will be done on the basis of their performance in the written test, skill test (if required) and Interview.
The question paper of written tests, except “General English” or “Essay, précis, drafting and applied English grammar”, will be bilingual and the candidates will have the option to answer either in Hindi or English.
Skill test/written test(s) should not be construed as a merit test
Application fees: Non-refundable application fee is to be paid through a crossed demand draft of Rs. 500 (for Group A posts) / Rs. 300 (for Group B & Group C posts) drawn in favour of ‘Finance Officer, JNU’ payable at New Delhi.
SC/ ST/ PWD candidates are exempted from payment of application fees.
Candidates should mention their name, Application I.D. No. and Name of the post applied for on the reverse side of the Bank Draft.

After submitting the online applications, candidates are required to take its printout and send one copy of the print out after signing along with the application fee DD, one passport size photograph and self-attested copies of required certificates / testimonials to ‘Dy. Registrar (Admn.), Room No. 310, Administrative Block, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Mehrauli Road, New Delhi-110067’ by post so as to reach the concerned authority within 30 days of the publication of this advertisement in the Employment News i.e. till 7 April 2014 as the advertisement was in employment News dated 8 March 2014 .
