The IDBI Bank has the begun the process to recruit 1000 Assistant Manager (AM) posts recently. In comparison to other public sector banks, Bank PO aspirants show some special interest towards IDBI Bank because of its unique profile. Unlike other major nationalised banks, the IDBI Bank has distinct business segments like Personal Banking, Corporate Banking, Agriculture Finance, Medium and SME Business segment. Salary and facilities: Assistant Managers are offered Rs 14,400/- per month as basic pay and other allowances. The pay structure of IDBI is considered as one among the best after SBI and its associate banks. Moreover, these pay scales are under constant revision to compensate for the inflationary pressures.

Besides the salary, the facilities available to assistant manager are accommodation, reimbursement made towards leave fare concession (LFC), medical expenses, telephone charges and conveyance allowance.

Nature of job: On the macro level, the role of an Assistant Manager depends upon the size and scale of the branch operations. While in a small branch, the Assistant Manager has to deal with a wide range of aspects such as cash, operations, sales and third party products, where as in bigger branches they have specific roles.

With regard to day to day operations, an Assistant Manager’s job is just similar to same ranking official in any other bank. The major responsibilities include disbursing loans, interacting with customers of the bank and knowing their credit requirements, recovery of loans from defaulters and submitting periodical reports to higher officials on the progress made by the branch.
