Eligibility Conditions for Civilian in Navy
To become a Civilian in the Indian Navy a candidate needs to have qualified high school or secondary or 10th examination from a recognized university or board. In addition to this, candidates must have done certificate course in the respective trade from ITI / NVCT from a recognized institution. For clerical functions, candidates must have good typing speed.
Age Limit for Civilian in Navy
To become a Civilian in Navy a candidate’s age must fall into the range of 18 years to 25 years.
The selection of candidates for Civilian in Navy posts differs from trade to trade and post wise. Usually it is done on the basis of their performance in the Academic Records, Written Exam, Physical Endurance Test and Skill Test or Trade Test. Candidates are also required to fulfill certain physical standards like - Height 165 CM, Chest 81.5 CM (without expansion) and 85 CM (with expansion), weight 50 KG, carrying 63.5 KG weight to 183 meter in 96 seconds, long jump of 2.7 meter, climbing rope of 3 meter height, etc.
For the post of Civilian in Navy, initially, a salary is given according to the Pay Matrix Level - 1, i.e. Rs. 18,000 – 56,900/- to Pay Matrix Level - 2, i.e. Rs. 19,900 – 63,200/- of the Seventh Pay Commission. On some posts salary could be according to the Pay Matrix Level - 3, i.e. Rs. 21,700 – 69,100/- the Seventh Pay Commission. Apart from this, various allowances and facilities like mess, school, etc. are also given.
