Lakshadweep Administration, Services Section, Government of India, Kavaratti issued notification inviting applications from local candidates of Lakshadweep for recruitment to 65 General Central Services Group ‘C’ Non Gazette Ministerial posts of Lower Division Clerk (50 posts), Stenographer Grade-III (14 posts) and Bearer (1 post). Interested candidates should send their applications to the said office by post so as to reach the concerned authority on or before 2 June 2014.

Vacancy Details

Total vacancies: 65 posts

a. Lower Division Clerk: 50 posts

Pay Scale: Pay band of Rs.5200- 20200 with Grade Pay of Rs.1900 per month.

Qualification: (10+2) or equivalent qualification with Certificate course of Computer of at least 3 months;

b. Stenographer Grade-III: 14 posts

Pay Scale: Pay band of Rs.5200- 20200 with Grade Pay of Rs.2400 per month.

Qualification: (10+2) or equivalent qualification;

c. Bearer: 1 post

Pay Scale: Pay band of Rs.5200- 20200 with Grade Pay of Rs.1900 per month.

Qualification: (10+2) or equivalent qualification with conversational ability in English and Hindi, 2 years experience as Bearer in a Registered hotel/ restaurant/ tourist resort and Ceritficate course in Hospitality Management;

Age limit: (for all posts)

Minimum: 18 years

Maximum: 25 years

Selection Procedure: Selection of candidates will be done on the basis of their performance in the Open competitive examination, consisting of two stages -- the 1st stage of the exam will be a written exam to be held on 10 August 2014. The 2nd stage tests will be different for each post and would be conducted in Kochi. Details of the tests are:

For Lower Division Clerk: Skill test for 10 minutes on Computer – typing speed of 35 words per minute (10500 KDPH);

For Stenographer Grade-III: Skill test in Typing (for 10 minutes on Computer) and Transcription (50 minutes) in Stenography. A Dictation for 10 minutes@80 words per minutes will also be given.

For Bearer: Personal Interview.

Typing test and Stenography Test will be held on 20 September 2014. Date of Interview will be intimated later. 

Candidates qualifying the 1st stage of exam will be called for the 2nd stage and those qualifying both the stages will be selected for the post.

How to Apply: Eligible and interested local candidates of Lakshadweep only should send their applications, in the given prescribed format, along with copies of all the required certificates by post to ‘The Director (Service), Lakshadweep Secretariat, Kavaratti’ so as to reach the concerned authority on or before 2 June 2014  (1700 hours).
