Makhanlal University was set up by the Act 15 of 1990 of the Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly in Bhopal and was formally inaugurated on 16 January 1991, becoming Asia's first university dedicated to the field of journalism and communication. It is a member of the Association of Commonwealth Universities and the Association of Indian Universities (AIU). The university invites application from eligible candidates for admission to various Programme at Bhopal, Noida and Khandwa campus.

Important Dates for admission in Makhanlal University 2012
- Last Date for sending application: 31 May 2012
- Date for Entrance Test: 10 June 2012 to 2 July 2012 till 5 pm
Selection Procedure for admission in Makhanlal University 2012: Candidates will be selected on the basis of Entrance Exam.
How to Apply for admission in Makhanlal University 2012: Candidates can either apply online on https://www.mponline.gov.in/ or offline. For offline application, the application form can either be downloaded from the university website or can be obtained via post from Bhopal/ Noida/ Khandwa campus.
Application Fee: Rs 350 (Rs 250 for SC/ ST candidates). The fee can either be paid online or in the form of DD drawn in favour of Registrar, Makhanlal Chaturvedi University of Journalism & Communication, Bhopal payable at Bhopal. The filled application form should reach Bhopal campus.
