Punjab Agriculture University (PAU) has invited applications from various candidates to apply for its MBA Programmes for the academic session 2016 – 17. All the interested and eligible candidates can apply through proper channel latest by 06th May, 2016.

The Punjab Agricultural University was established in 1962 to serve the state of erstwhile Punjab. On trifurcation of Punjab in November 1966, Haryana Agricultural University was carved out of PAU by an Act of Parliament in February 1970.

Eligibility Criteria for Admission

MBA Programme: Graduate in any discipline.

MBA (Agribusiness) Programme: Graduates in any field of Agricultural Sciences or allied subjects [Food Technology / Biotech. / Dairy Technology / Fisheries / Forestry / Agri – Engineering / Veterinary Sciences / Agri-Business / Home Science (4/6 yr duration) / B.Sc. (Agri MaCo)].

Selection procedure for Admission in PAU’s MBA Programmes

Successfully registered candidate is required to undertake an entrance test (MET) comprising of Multiple Choice Questions. Entrance test (MET – MBA) will be conducted on 09th June 2016 and (MET – Agribusiness) will be conducted on 27th May 2016 at specified centres. The admission will be made on the basis of written test, group discussion and interview.

How to apply for PAU’s MBA Programmes

Online Mode: Eligible candidate can registered themself on the official website of the Punjab Agriculture University (PAU) within specified time and need to pay Rs.4400/ through proper channel as a fee of registration.

Offline Mode: Candidate is required to purchase Prospectus along with Admission Form through post or from cash counter. Fill the Application Form attached with the prospectus as per the instruction mentioned and send the duly filled in form alongwith the requisite documents to The Registrar, Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana.

Application Fees: Applicants have to pay Rs. 3150/- for each Entrance Test in addition to cost of the Prospectus (Rs.1750/- at the Counter or Rs. 1880 by Post).

MET – Agribusiness Test Pattern

1. There will be 300 multiple choice type questions each of one mark to be attempted in allotted time of 3 hours.

2. There will be two parts of the Question Paper. Part-I will contain 60 questions each from Written Communication Ability, Numerical Ability and Management Aptitude, and Part-II will contain 120 questions of General Knowledge.

3. The weightage of Part-I will be 60% and Part-II will be 20%. Group Discussion and Interview will have weightage of 10% each.

4. Each correct answer will carry one mark whereas ¼ mark will be deducted for every wrong answer.

5. Minimum percentage of marks required to be obtained in the Entrance Test to be called for Counselling is 20% with negative marking.

MET – MBA Test Pattern

1. There will be 300 multiple choice type questions each of one mark to be attempted in allotted time of 3 hours.

2. The paper will be divided into four sections consisting of 60 questions each from Verbal Ability, Numerical Ability, Management Aptitude and 120 questions from General Knowledge. Each section will carry equal weightage i.e. 25%.

3. The weightage for the Entrance Test will be 80%. Group Discussion and Interview will have weightage of 10% each.

4. Each correct answer will carry one mark whereas ¼ mark will be deducted for every wrong answer.

5. Minimum percentage of marks required to be obtained in the Entrance Test to be called for Counselling is 20% with negative marking.

Admit Card for MET – MBA / MET (Agribusiness)

1. The admit card of the entrance test can be downloaded by clicking on the given link on the official website of PAU by entering the:

Date of Birth and UID - for online applicants (UID will appear on the top of application form as well as on the Bank Challan Form downloaded & printed by the candidate).

Date of Birth and Prospectus  Number – for offline applicants.

2. Offline applicants are required to sign & paste the same photograph on the admit card as pasted on the application form and get the same attested from the Principal / Gazetted officer.

3. All applicants must bring a photo ID proof i.e. Driving Licence or PAN Card or Voter ID or Passport or Aadhaar ID in original (not photocopy or scanned copy) along with downloaded admit card on the examination day, otherwise he / she will not be allowed to appear in the entrance test.

4. In case any applicant is not able to download his / her admit card, he / she may contact the office of The Registrar, Thapar Hall, PAU, Ludhiana, two days before the date of entrance test alongwith a copy of application form and original receipt of Bank Challan Form (issued by the bank) and two passport size photographs.

5. No enquiries regarding admit card will be entertained on the day of entrance test.
