About the courses:
Name of the Courses:
- Post Diploma in Thermal Power Plant Engineering (2014-15)
- Post Graduate Diploma course in Transmission & Distribution (2014-1 5)
Course Duration: Modular courses of duration 52 weeks PDC (TPPE) & 26 weeks PGDC (T&D) respectively.
Course Location: Formal teaching will be held at Regional Institute of NPTI located at Badarpur (New Delhi).
On job training for PDC is conducted at nearby power stations and the training on state of the art simulator, at NPTI Faridabad/ Badarpur or some other place. Simulator training for T&D programme will be held at Banglore. Regular visits to nearby Power Stations/Sub-Stations/LDCs & other related industries are also undertaken during the programes.
Eligibility
Educational Qualification:
For PDC (TPPE): Diploma in Mechanical/ Electrical Engineering (Regular Basis).
Graduate engineers are not eligible.
For PGDC (T&D): B.E. or equivalent in Electrical/Power/Electrical & Electronics Engineering (Regular Basis).
Age Limit: No age limit
Selection Criterion for Admission:
Selection will be made on Merit basis, percentage in qualifying examination.
Total Seats: 120 in PDC (TPPE) & 60 in PGDC (T&D) course.
Reservation for OBC/SC/ST/PH is allowed as per Govt. of India Norms. Seats are also reserved for candidates sponsored from Power utilities.
