National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) invited applications for recruitment to the post for Sr. Consultant, Jr. Consultant and Consultant on contract basis. The candidates eligible for the post can apply through the prescribed format within 30 days (12 September 2016) from the date of advertisement.

Eligibility Criteria for Consultant Posts

Educational/Technical Qualification & Experience:

Sr. Consultant (policy, Plan and Mainstreaming): Candidate should have Master Degree in Disaster Management, Urban Planning, Geography, Environmental Science, Architecture, or Civil  Engineering,  combined  with minimum 08  years of experience. Alternatively PhD with 04-year experience in relevant field.

Sr. Consultant (Earthquake & Tsunami): candidate should have Masters in Technology/Engineering in      Structural/ Earthquake Engineering with minimum 08  years of experience or Ph.D. in Structural Engineering/ Earthquake Engineering/ Seismology with 04 years experience.  

Sr. Consultant (Flood and River Erosion):  candidate should have Master Degree in Hydrology/   Hydrogeology/ Water Resources/Civil Engineering/ Geology or equivalent with experience in relevant field or Ph.D. in Flood Control/Flood Management,  Geography,  and  Urban/Regional Planning with 04 years experience.  

Sr. Consultant( structural Safety of Buildings and infrastructure): candidate should have Masters  Degree  in  Actuarial  Sciences  or  Economics or Commerce  or Financial Management/MBA. Minimum 08 years   of  experience in  Disaster Risk Financing/08 years  experience  in  insurance  regulatory organization/8 years experience in insurance sector/08 years experience in micro financing.

Sr. Consultant ( Vulnerability Analysis): Disaster Risk Assessment): candidate should have Post-graduate/M.Tech in  Structural Engineering with minimum 08  years of experience or M.Phil/ PhD in structural engineering with 04 years experience.  

Consultant (Psychosocial care and social Vulnerability): Masters degree in Social Work, Psychology, Psychiatric Social  Work,  Disaster Management,  and  Anthropology with 05 years of relevant experience. Alternatively,  retiree govt. officers with PhD in relevant field with 2-3 years experience in relevant filed. 

Consultant (Urban Flooding): Master  Degree  in  Civil  Engineering/  Hydrology/  Water Resources/ Urban planning with minimum 08 years experience  or PhD in relevant field with minimum 04 years experience in relevant filed. 

Consultant (Drought and Food Security): Masters in Agriculture, Meteorology,   Agro-Meteorology, Agro-Economics, Water Resources Management or Soil Conservation,  combined  with minimum 05  years  of  work experience on drought issues in arid and semi-arid regions.

Consultant ( Chemical, Industrial and Hazardous material Transportation Disaster Preparedness): Post  Graduate (Master  in  Chemical  /Industrial Engineering)/Master in Disaster Risk Management  related  to  Industrial  &  Hazardous Material  including  ‘Chemical’  with 05 years of relevant  experience OR PhD  with 02 years

Consultant ( Reconstruction and Recovery) : Master degree  or  equivalent  in disaster management, natural sciences, engineering, urban  planning,  geography, environmental  and/or development-related  fields with  08 years of experience  or  PhD  with  04  years  of  experience.   

Jr. Consultant ( Earthquake):  Bachelors/ Masters in Technology/ Engineering/Civil Engineering/  Architecture/  Urban  Planning  or  M.Sc  in Seismology/ Geography with 01 and 03 year  experience respectively or  PhD in concerned filed.
