The National Testing Agency has released the revised result of National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET PG 2019) on the official website- nbe.edu.in. The Health Ministry on May 07, had announced the reduction of the qualifying marks for NEET-PG for 2019-20 by 6 percentile. The government had taken this decision in consultation with the Medical Council of India (MCI) which is going to benefit thousands of medical aspirants.

The ministry released an official statement to announce the deduction in NEET-PG cut off. Now, the revised NEET-PG qualifying marks for 2019-20 for different categories are as follows:

NEET-PG Minimum Qualifying Marks for 2019-20

For General Category - 44 percentile

For Persons With Disabilities (PwD) Category - 39 percentile

For SC/ST and OBC category - 34 percentile

The central government requested all the states and union territories to make necessary arrangements for allowing students as per revised qualifying marks in further rounds of counselling this year. Candidates who have qualified the NEET PG 2019 basis the revised cut-off are eligible to participate in the counselling conducted by Medical Counselling Committee (MCC).

In accordance with the Clause 9(III) of the Indian Postgraduate Medical Education Regulations, 2000, when sufficient number of candidates in the respective categories fail to secure the minimum marks as prescribed in the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test held for admission to the post graduate courses, the Central Government in consultation with the MCI, may lower the minimum marks which shall be applicable for the said academic year only.
