NET/ SET Aspirants Show Discontentment over Delay in Recruitment Process

Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission’s decision to postpone the recruitment for the post of Assistant Professor in Higher Education Department is causing anguish among the 8000 aspirants, who applied twice for the post over the period of 02 years.

The recruitment process has been delayed by 02 years for undisclosed reasons by J&K Public Service Commission. Though some reports suggest it is a decision of Higher education department citing UGC regulations 2009 to confirm the educational eligibility of the Ph.D. candidates; in accordance with the UGC regulations for awarding Ph.D. and appointments in the Higher education system published in The Gazette of India in 18 September 2010.

In spite of the High court order, giving permission in Higher Education Department, to conduct the recruitment process there has been undue delay in the same.

Due to delaying tactics by the J&K Public Service Commission to fill the vacant posts of Assistant Professor in Institutions of Higher Education in the state; is causing deficiency of adequate faculty and the basic standard of education in the state is suffering.

A delegation of NET/SET & Eligible PH.D candidates’ delegation told reporters that since 2013 J&K Public service commission has twice invited applications for the post of Assistant Professor it is yet to conduct the exam and complete the process.
