Smriti Irani, the HRD minister said that the New National Education policy would be formed by month of December this year. The union HRD ministry is working on a new National Education Policy (NEP), for which the initial procedures have already begun.
Attending a convocation ceremony at a girl’s college Irani said, “Central government is guided by ‘education for all’ policy. We are working in this direction and NEP would be formed by December this year.” The education ministries of all the states have been welcomed earlier by the union ministry to give away their suggestions regarding the formation of a National Policy in education sector.
She further added, “They have been asked to send their suggestions by November so that a universal education policy could be made for the whole country.”
While addressing the media she rejected the speculations that were made by the media that she was dropped from her position of BJP’s National Executive, on line with her differences in ideologies with that of the party chief Amit Shah. She made it clear that there is no such issue within the party and she beholds her position strong in the party as she had earlier.
To answer the curious media she said, “No. I have no differences with him. He is like an elder brother to me. And the government has already entrusted me with a big responsibility.” The new National Education Policy was the brainchild of her ministry, and is expected to create ripples of positive vibrancy in the education sector.
