Two new courses on surgical oncology and gynecological oncology will soon be offered at the Acharya Harihara Regional Cancer Centre (AHRCC) in Cuttack. The courses would be offered from the next session, 2013-14.
Knowing the fact that a large number of cancer patients flock to AHRCC, the state government has submitted a proposal to upgrade the hospital to an apex cancer hospital.
An estimated investment of rupees three fifty crore has also been done on the same. The work will start by December 2012 after the master plan is completed and approved by September 2012.
Apart from the remuneration, the dharamshala on the premises of AHRCC will be made a hundred bed provision in order to accommodate attendants of patients. The state government has also signed an agreement with a company to improve infrastructure facilities and add advanced equipment in the hospital.
