Eligibility Criteria for Admission in NIT Agartala

Minimum Qualification

• Candidates for admission for PhD programme in Engineering Departments must satisfy one of the following criteria:-

a) Master's Degree in Engineering/ Technology or equivalent in an appropriate area with a minimum CGPA of 6.5 out of 10 or equivalent (60% of marks)

b) Bachelor's Degree in Engineering/ Technology with an excellent academic record and with a CGPA of at least 9.0 out of 10 or equivalent (85% of marks)

• Candidates for admission for PhD programme in Science Department must satisfy the following criteria:-

I. Candidates for admission to PhD programme in Science Departments must have a Master's Degree in the relevant Discipline (Physics/ Chemistry/ Mathematics) with a First class or a minimum of 55% of marks in the subject or equivalent.

Candidates for admission for PhD programme in Humanities & Social Science Department must satisfy the following criteria:-

I. Candidates for admission to the PhD programme in Humanities and Social Science must have a master's degree with a minimum of 55% marks or equivalent. Candidates having MBA degree are also eligible for perusing PhD programme under Humanities and Social Science with a minimum CGPA of 6.5 out of 10 or equivalent (60% marks)

Selection Procedure for Admission in NIT Agartala

On receipt of applications the candidates fulfilling eligibility conditions are called for Interview (Written/ Oral). Selection is made on the basis of performance of the candidates in the Test/ Interview and availability of seats

Scholarship Facility for Admission in NIT Agartala

Regular full-time scholars may be awarded scholarship/ Assistantship as per MHRD/ Institute guidelines
