Northern Railways Notified Recruitment for 10 vacancies under Sports Quota 2014

Northern Railway (NR) invited application for recruitment of 10 vacancies under Sports Quota. The candidates eligible for the post can apply through prescribed format before 28 August 2014.

Vacancy details:-

1. Cricket: 3 posts (for Batsman)

2. Weight Lifting: 2 posts (1 each under 69kgs & 77 kgs category)

3. Volley ball: 2 posts (1 Center Blocker & 1 Counter Attacker)

4. Athletic Men: 2 posts (1 - Javelin Throw & 1 - Discuss Throw)

5. Athletic women: 1 post (for 1500 meters Race)

Pay Scale: Pay Band 1 of Rs. 5200-20200 with Grade Pay of Rs. 1800 per month

Eligibility Criterion:

Age limit:

Minimum: 18 years

Maximum: 25 years

Qualifications: - Class 10 pass;                                                                                                                                                                                           

Sports qualifications: must have represented the country in any of the Category –‘C’ Championship/ Events.

Selection Procedure:

Selection of candidates will be done on the basis of their performance in the sports-trials and Interview.

Only short-listed candidates will be called for the trials.

All original documents will be verified at the time of interview.

Selected candidates will be required to go through medical examinations as per norms. .

Application fees

Non-refundable application fee of Rs. 40 is to be paid through a crossed DD/ IPO drawn in favour of ‘The Sports Officer/ Head Quarter Sports Association, Northern Railways, New Delhi’ payable at New Delhi.

SC/ ST category candidates are exempted from payment of application fees.

How to Apply

Interested and eligible candidates should send their applications, in the prescribed format, along with 2 passport size photographs, application fee IPO/ DD and attested copies of required certificates/ documents/ testimonials to ‘The Sports Officer/ Head Quarter Sports Association, Northern Railways, Baroda House, New Delhi, Room No. 7-G, Annexe–II Building, Baroda House, New Delhi-110 001’ by post so as to reach the concerned authority till 28 August 2014.

On the envelope carrying the application, candidates should super-scribe ‘400E/18/Sports/Rec. Head Quarter Div. Grade pay 1800/ 2014-15’ and event for which applied should be mentioned in the bracket.
