Application process has begun for KARTET 2016/ Karnataka Teacher Eligibility Test. Interested and eligible candidates can find more details in this regard from the official portal or else from here.
Candidates interested to apply for KARTET 2016 should send in their applications online at schooleducation.kar.nic.in. The online application portal will be open till 09 November.
KARTET 2016 exam will be held on 18 December.
It is for the information of candidates that the validity period of KARTET qualifying certificate for appointment will be seven years from the date of declaration of its result for all categories. There is no restriction on the number of attempts a person can take for acquiring a KARTET Certificate. A person who has qualified KARTET may also appear again for improving his / her score.
Eligibility Criteria for KARTET 2016
For becoming Teacher for Classes I-V (Primary Stage): PUC / Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2- year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known) or PUC / Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4- year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed). OR Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2- year Diploma in Education (Special Education) OR B.A / B.Sc Graduation and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known).
For becoming Teacher for Classes VI- VIII (Elementary Stage): B.A / B.Sc Graduation and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known) OR B.A / B.Sc Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in 1- year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed). OR PUC / Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4- year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed) OR PUC / Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4- year B.A /B.Sc.Ed or B.A.Ed /B.Sc.Ed OR B.A / B.Sc Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in 1- year B.Ed. (Special Education).
For becoming Teacher for Classes I – VIII (Elementary Stage): PUC / Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4- year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed) OR B.A / B.Sc Graduation and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known).
Candidates should note that those interested to become teacher for primary level shall have to appear for Paper 1; those interested for elementary stage will have appear for Paper 2. Candidates interested for both will have to appear for Paper 1 & 2.
Selection Process for KARTET 2016
Candidates will be selected on the basis of their performance in the written test. The candidates appearing in KARTET will be issued Marks Statement. The Candidates securing 60% and above marks will be issued Eligibility Certificate.
Exam Pattern of KARTET 2016
Candidates must be well aware of the examination scheme and pattern that will be followed in KARTET 2016. There will be two papers (Paper 1 and Paper 2). All questions in KARTET test will be Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), each carrying one mark, with four alternatives out of which one answer will be correct. There will be no negative marking.
