Punjab Government to Conduct Drug Test for Punjab Police Recruitment 7416 Constables Posts 2016

Punjab Police invited applications from Indian Nationals for direct recruitment to 7416 posts of Male and Female Constables in the District Police Cadre and Armed Police Cadre in probation period of 03 years. The recruitment applications are invited till 21 June 2016

As an update on this recruitment, Punjab Government said that there will be drugs test which would be conducted on candidates applying for jobs in the Punjab Police. The motive of this course of action is due to the fact that in recent years various surveys have indicated the incidence of high drug abuse in Punjab, especially among youth and in rural areas.

Explaining about the drug tests, The Deputy Chief Minister, Sukhbir Singh Badal said-“although no drug addict was found during the army selections in the past, the drug test samples will be taken to re-assert the reality.”

Eligible candidates can apply online to the post through the prescribed format along with other necessary documents on or before 21 June 2016.

The Common Application Form (CAF) for both the District Police Cadre and the Armed Police Cadre will be available on the official website i.e., http://www.punjabpolicerecruitment.in/ After filling the First Page (Registration Page) of the Common Application Form, a unique Registration ID and Password will be generated. Once the unique Registration ID is generated, the candidate shall be required to deposit the fees.
