The government of Rajasthan made it clear in their assembly that all the educational scholarships that would be provided to the Scheduled Case and Scheduled Tribe students would be given online after they get self-verified by the beneficiaries themselves. This would reduce the pending nature of the scholarships and the delay in giving away the scholarships to the needy would get addressed properly.
The Social Justice and Empowerment Minster Dr. Arun Chaturvedi, while answering a question from BJP MLA Devendra Katra said in the assembly that over 5 lakh scholarship cases were pending since 2009 and out of them only 8 to 9 percent cases are now pending as the scholarships were provided expeditiously by the present government.
According to Chaturvedi, the beneficiaries would get the option of online service once they file their self-verified documents to the concerned agency/authority. This would expedite the scholarship claims and cases to avoid pendency and provide the allotted money to the needy students for their studies.
The minister also asked the centre to release the pending scholarship funds for the SC/ST students, so that they could get paid in a specific time frame.
