Ray optics and optical instruments (part-2)
Ray optics and optical instruments (part-2)

How important the chapter Ray optics and optical instruments is? Why do we study the chapter Ray optics and optical instruments? How many marks are carried by the chapter Ray optics and optical instruments in class 12 board examinations? How you will explain the reflection of light through spherical mirror? What do mean by magnification of a mirror?

The capability of a lens or mirror converge or diverge light is called as focal length. For an optical instrument in air, it is the distance over which initially collimated rays are brought to a focus. A system with a shorter focal length has greater optical power than one with a long focal length; that is, it bends the rays more strongly, bringing them to a focus in a shorter distance.
