IAS 1st ranker 2010, S Divyadharshini in an interview to Gulshan Sharma discusses the strategy for Personality Test (Interview) of the prestigious civil services exam
Q. How did you prepare for the interview?
A. I practiced possible questions on my profile (bio-data) and kept myself abreast with the current affairs. Discussing the topics analytically with my group of friends helped me a lot.
Q. Please share the details of the interview? What was its duration, strength of the interview panel and what kind of questions were asked?
A. My interview lasted for 20- 25 minutes. The interviewers started with basic questions based on my profile and a lot of questions from my subject which is Law. Further, some hot topics like Lokpal bill and RTI were also discussed. In addition, they also put forth a few situational questions and tested my reaction. Once the interview was over, I was confident that I had done it well.
Q. Were you confident in the interview hall? How did you remain calm and composed in what is usually considered a stressful situation?
A. Yes, I was confident in the interview hall. I reminded myself that I had come all the way and this was not the place to lose my cool. I wanted to walk in with confidence and I was glad that I could maintain it before the board.
