The former faculty of IGNOU, Mr. Santosh Panda, has now been employed as a recent Chairman of National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), responsible for running of institutions of teacher education in India besides, regulating them and setting quality standards for the same.
HRD Minister M M Pallam Raju approved of Mr. Panda and also he was cleared by the Appointment Committee of Cabinet, as informed by sources in the HRD Ministry. Further added, that from all , 11 candidates were short-listed for the Chairman post, among those 11, further 3 were selected to the final list. Finally, Santosh Panda among those 3, was chosen for the position.
