Satyajit Ray Film & Television Institute issued notification inviting applications for recruitment to 4 Posts.

Satyajit Ray Film & Television Institute, Kolkata, an autonomous educational Institution under Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India issued notification inviting applications for recruitment to 4 posts – one post each of Assistant Professor (Producing for Film & Television) (through direct recruitment), Lighting Assistant (through direct recruitment), Assistant Professor (Cinematography) (on contract basis, initially for 3 months) and Assistant (on deputation basis for 3 years). Interested candidates should send their duly-filled in application form along with attested copies of required certificates/documents/ testimonial by post to SRFTI, Kolkata so as to reach the concerned authority on or before 15 November 2014.

Vacancy details

Total vacancies: 4 posts

1. Assistant Professor -- Producing for Film & Television: 1 post

Maximum Age limit: not more than 37 years

[Upper age limit is relax-able up to 42 years in case of exceptionally experienced candidate in the relevant field.] 

Pay Scale: Pay Band 3 of Rs.15600- 39100 with Grade Pay of Rs.5400 per month.

Qualification: Degree or equivalent and Post Graduate Degree/ Diploma or equivalent in Film/ TV Direction/ Production/ Producing and at least three years professional experience in Film/ TV Production and or respective teaching experience OR Post Graduate or Diploma or equivalent in Business Administration, Mass Communication, Media Studies and at least 5 years professional experience in Film/ TV Production and or respective teaching experience. 

Mode of Recruitment: Direct recruitment

2. Lighting Assistant: 1 post

Maximum Age limit: not more than 27 years

Pay Scale: Pay Band 1 of Rs.5200- 20200 with Grade Pay of Rs.1900 per month.

Qualification: Matriculation or equivalent or ITI (Electrical) passed with relevant License to work in 3 phase 440 volt electric line and at least 4 years’ experience in related field in a Film Studio or equivalent Organisation. 

Mode of Recruitment: Direct recruitment

3. Assistant Professor (Cinematography): 1 post

Minimum Age limit: not less than 37 years

Remuneration: Rs.48300 per month (Consolidated)

Qualifications: Degree or Post-Graduate Diploma or equivalent in Motion Picture Photography or Cinematography and at least 3 years’ professional experience as Cinematographer and/or teaching experience in Motion Picture Photography or Cinematography  with expertise and experience in Digital Cinematography, image acquisition and post production workflow.

Type of Recruitment: On contract basis

Period of Recruitment: initially for three months

Selected candidate will be required to join on immediate basis.

4. Assistant: 1 post

Maximum Age limit: not more than 56 years

Pay Scale: PB- 2 of Rs.9300 – 34800 with Grade Pay of Rs.4200 per month.

Qualifications: Deputation Officials under the Central Govt./ State Govt./ Central Autonomous bodies holding analogous posts on regular basis or with 6 years’ regular service in posts with Grade pay of Rs.2800 or equivalent OR  with 10 years’ regular service in posts with Grade pay of Rs. 2400 or equivalent and possessing Degree with knowledge of Computer and English typing speed @ minimum 35 w.p.m. on Computer.

Type of Recruitment: On Deputation basis

Period of Recruitment: initially for three years

Selection Procedure: Selection of candidates will be done on the basis of their performance in the Interview.

Eligible short-listed candidates will be called for trade test and/or interview.

Application fees: Non-refundable Application fee of Rs.200/ Rs.100 (for Lightning Assistant) is to be paid through a crossed Demand Draft drawn in favor of ‘Satyajit Ray Film & Television Institute’, payable at Kolkata.

SC/ ST/ PH and female candidates are exempted from payment of application fees.

How to Apply: Interested and eligible candidates should send their applications, in the prescribed format, along with fee DD in original, self-attested copies of required certificates/ documents/ testimonials and 2 recent passport size photos by ordinary post to ‘The Director, Satyajit Ray Film & Television Institute, E.M. Bypass Road, P.O. Panchasayar, Kolkata – 700094’ or drop in the application box kept in the Administrative Block of the Institute so as to reach the  concerned authority on or before 15 November 2014.

On the envelope carrying the application, candidates should super-scribe name of the post applied for.
