India Today , media publication signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with a Chinese University in Shanghai in lieu to establishing a Hindi Language Chair . The Memorandum was signed on 29 October 2012.
The MoU was signed by Indian envoy to China S Jaishankar and Shanghai International Studies University Executive Vice President Feng Qinghua at Shanghai.
According to the terms of the agreement, Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) in consultation with SISU will soon appoint a Hindi Language professor to teach the language to Chinese and international students at the Shanghai International Studies University.
The very first course on Hindi language at SISU is expected to kick start September 2013.
