SSC has decided to implement certain changes in the Combined Graduate Level Exam 2016 (SSC CGL 2016). The examination will be held on 27 August 2016. The Tier I examination will be held from 27 August till 11 September 2016.
In SSC CGL 2016, The Tier-I and Tier-II of the Examination are to be conducted in the Computer Based mode. The examination on the first three days viz., 27 August 2016 to 29 August 2016 would be conducted in two batches and thereafter from 30 August 2016 to 11 September 2016, the examination would be conducted in three batches per day.
Here's an elaborated description of the revised exam scheme
On July 1, 2016, Exam Scheme is revised for SSC CGL 2016 examinatoin and an additional stage Tier-3 is introduced.
SSC CGL 2016 Tier 1 exam is scheduled to is scheduled to be held from 27 August, 2016. The Tier 1 exam rescheduled to held from 27 August from its earlier notified date.
As per the revised notification issued by Staff Selection Commission (SSC) for Combined Graduate Level Examination 2016, popularly known as SSC CGL 2016, there would be reduced number of Questions from 200 to 100 in Tier 1 of the CGL Examination 2016. The Tier 1 of the CGL Exam would continue to carry 200 marks. The duration of SSC CGL Tier-I exam would be for a period of 75 minutes.
SSC has also decided to conduct the Tier-I and Tier-II in computer based examination mode in place of OMR based examination mode. Earlier as per notifications Tier 1 and Tier 2 was scheduled to be held based on OMR sheet.

Negative Marking in SSC CGL Exam 2016
There will be negative marking of 0.50 for each wrong answer in Tier 1. In respect of Tier-2, the negative marking system will remain unchanged.
SSC CGL 2016 Tier 3 Introduced
SSC has introduced a Descriptive Paper of English/Hindi as Tier-III. The Question Paper will be bilingual. The candidates will have the option to choose any one medium.

Basis of Final Merit of SSC CGL 2016
The final merit will be prepared on overall performance in Tier-I, Tier-II and Tier-III. However, the candidate will need to qualify all the tiers i.e. Tier-1, Tier-2 and Tier-3 separately. There will be no sectional cut-off.
