Staff Selection Commission has officially released the SSC CGL 2017 Notification PDF, after along delay of two months from the previously notified notification date of release. Candidates waiting eagerly for the SSC CGL 2017 notification can download the notification along with application format from the official website at ssc.nic.in. The online registration will commence from the eve of 16 May 2017.
SSC has notified through a Corrigendum that the maximum age limit for the posts under the Post Code K,L,M and P has been raised to maximum 30 years. And the other addition to the previous notification is, SSC has made it CPT (Computer Proficiency Test for the Post codes K,L and M mandatory. Therefore, the post of Inspector (Central Excise), Inspector (Preventive Officer), and Inspector (Examiner) will now be part of Para 9 (E) in the notification.
The last date of application for the SSC CGL 2017 is 16 June 2017, which is exactly one month from the date of notification. The examinations for the computer based tier I examination will commence from 1 August and will continue till 20th of August 2017. SSC CGL 2017 is divided into four phases which includes Tier-I--Computer Based Examination, Tier-II--Computer Based Examination, Tier-III--Pen and Paper Mode (Descriptive paper),Tier-IV--Computer Proficiency Test/ Skill Test (wherever applicable)/Document Verification.
This year SSC has done away with the compulsory physical standard criteria and there will be no interview as per the new recruitment guidelines.
SSC CGL in one of the most competitive examination in the country with the vacancy to the applicant ratio going as high as 1: 600, it is expected more than half a million candidates will be applying for the few hundred posts in the various departments.
