Tips to Crack Verbal Reasoning: SSC CGL Exam (Tier-I)

    The Combined Graduate Level Examination conducted by Staff Service Commission is scheduled for this year and the candidates have started to shift gears in their preparations. There are three rounds in total for this examination which the candidates need to go past in order to finally get selected for the government jobs that is on offer through this exam.

    SSC Combined Graduate Level Online Exam 2016 will be conducted in four tiers as mentioned below:

    With varying intellect level and different capabilities of understanding by the candidates it becomes important to have a grip in the reasoning paper. It tests the caliber of the candidate in decision making and sharpness of mind. Thus the paper needs attention from the candidates and needs to get practiced well. There are few tips and strategies that can help the candidates perform well in the verbal Reasoning exams:

    • Test of Reasoning Ability: Verbal reasoning is for testing the reasoning ability or logical deduction capability of the candidates. This is a test specially designed to make candidates a little nervous through difficult combinations and tough regimes. To tackle the questions you cannot rely on any specific module and thus you need to be very flexible while solving these questions.
    • Comprehensive practice and training: Though the questions might seem to be from anywhere and everywhere but a steady comprehensive mind can actually sharpen the candidates mind to go tactfully in answering the questions.  Complicated language and confusing traits are normal in these questions which need to be dealt tactfully. You can actually derive your own methods of solving the problems by pinning down things on paper and solving them with certain methodologies.
    • Try to avoid any guesswork: Reasoning is never about guessing and if you are not sure you should not go for any of the questions as they contain negative marks with them. You should remain confident with your answer and if required cross check and double check it. A proper and systematic approach to the questions can lend you success for sure.
    • Read the question carefully: Quite often on a single reading of the questions doesn’t make it clear to the candidates. It often leads to mistake in judgment. A proper way to sort this out is to re-read the question that is generating any amount of doubt. Doing this can solve many a problems while answering the questions.
