Also, he tells us how the name Super 30 was decided.
This is a well-known fact now that, when a person wants to start with something good for society, he has to do a lot of hard work and struggle but when he puts his 100% efforts then he definitely gets success in return.
Through this video, we will get to know that why a person should never give up on his goals in order to fulfil his dreams. The story began when Professor Anand Kumar’s (a well-known mathematician of Bihar) research papers and articles were published abroad. Therefrom, he was invited for his further education at Cambridge University, England. However, due to the poor financial condition of his family, he could not pursue this. His father was working at a post of clerk in a post office at that time.
In this video, Mr Anand Kumar also mentioned an incident of seeking help from a politician who once visited his college for a book release event. He also told us that he had to join Cambridge University on October 1, 1994, but his father died due to a sudden heart attack on August 23, 1994. Therefore, his family was completely taken aback. Following his father’s death, Mr Anand Kumar was being offered a job on compassion basis as his father was a government employee. But, his mother supported him by saying that he is free to choose his goal and not take up the job if he wants to pursue his studies.
Due to poor financial conditions, Mr Anand’s mother used to make papad (a thin and crisp wafer made in Indian households) for their livelihood and him along with his brother would go on a bicycle to sell these papads during the daytime. Moreover, Mr Anand Kumar used to give tuitions for children in the remaining time of the day. He started his coaching institute 'Ramanujam School of Mathematics' at his home itself. In starting, only two students came to take tuitions and he would charge a fee of Rs. 500. But, one day a student came to him who sincerely wanted to take tuitions from Mr Anand Kumar but his financial situation was becoming a barrier in this as his father was a farmer and he used to work as a guard at a place, therefore, he told Mr Anand Kumar that he cannot pay Rs. 500 fee at once but in instalments. However, Mr Anand Kumar observed the student’s dedication towards studies and he allowed him to join his coaching classes. He even managed a place to stay and food to eat during his coaching that too free of cost. This student succeeded in IIT Joint Entrance Exam in his first attempt.
After this success in IIT JEE, the popularity of Mr Anand Kumar’s coaching institute increased and therefore, the number of students who wanted to get coaching from him too increased.
