Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR) will be conducting Joint CSIR-UGC NET on 23 December 2012 at 26 centres spread across the nation. The test is conducted twice a year to determine the eligibility of Indian Nationals candidates for the award of JRF and to determine the eligibility for the recruitment of lecturers in 6 subjects under the faculty of Science & technology.
The joint CSIR-UGC NET Exam will hold the examination in objective mode in six subjects namely, Chemical Sciences, Earth, Atmospheric, Ocean and Planetary Sciences, Life Sciences, Mathematical Sciences, Physical Sciences and Engineering Sciences in the Single objective mode with Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs). With only 3 days left for the exam, jagranjosh guides you to the examination hall to avoid panic.
- Carry All Documents: Pack your bag a day before the exam and ensure that you have carried all important documents like stationary, admit card, original payment receipt, bio-data form, and photo identity proof in original as well as a photocopy a night before exam to avoid unnecessary panic.
- Reach on Time: Try to reach well before the reporting time to avoid unnecessary stress. Know the time required to reach the venue including the time lost in the traffic jam. Don’t forget to have a healthy breakfast to keep you relaxed and alert throughout the examination.
- Stress Management: Many aspirants get nervous and panic in the middle of the exam if they don’t know the answer or attempt a question badly. This might hamper your performance in the questions that follow. To avoid stress, take a deep breath and keep your cool.
- Follow Instructions: Ask assistance from the invigilators and follow the instructions given by them at all the stages of the examination. Violating any instructions can lead to cancellation of your candidature.
- Carefully handle OMR sheet: Candidates should not fold, roll or wrinkle the answer sheet otherwise it will be illegible for machine. On the conclusion of examination, the answer sheet should be handed over to the invigilator.
- Avoid Unethical Practice: Do not carry books, notes, calculator and unnecessary documents in the examination hall. For Joint CSIR-UGC NET, only Engineering Aspirants are allowed to take Scientific Calculator without data connectivity. Candidates must avoid cheating by copying or taking assistance from exam-fellows as using unfair practices in the exams can lead to disqualification.
- Time Management: As there will be three sections in Joint CSIR UGC NET exam paper, precisely divide the allotted time, that is, 3 hours to be required to solve each section. You can allot more time to the section in which you are not perfect and less to the section you are confident of solving correct answers in comparatively less duration. While attempting paper, keep a glance on the watch constantly to trail the time.
- Systematic and Selective Approach: Attempt question paper in the descending order of your forte in the exam paper. It means, start with the section you can easily solve and then attempt the next section that you can crack with less difficulty as it will boost your morale. Don’t waste time on the questions that are taking too much time for solutions. Leave that question and move on to the next question.
