Top B-schools Targets to Admit More Girls This Year

Indian Institutes of Management (IIM) along with other B-schools have been admitting more female candidates in an increased order so as to bring gender diversity on their campuses.

Indian Institutes of Management (IIM) along with other B-schools have been admitting more female candidates in an increased order so as to bring gender diversity on their campuses. To bring in more girls to their institutes various institutes have arrived in with giving incentives to encourage them.

The list includes IIM-Calcutta which is giving extra three marks to those girls who have been shortlisted for the interview, and IIM-Lucknow that allows extra weightage to girl students and also to them who are coming from the non-engineering background. The IIM institutes of Bangalore and Ahmadabad have seen a rise in women from 200 to 230 and 276 to 364.

In some schools the numbers of girls are counted more for the 2014-16 batches as compared with the previous batch. Reports state that BIMTECH have received about 20% hike in the number of girls as compared to last year’s enrollment. About 429 students have been admitted in the two year program with specialization in several subjects as of International Business, Insurance, Retail, and Sustainable Development stream includes nearly 160 women candidates.
