The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced new examination dates for the UGC NET 2024, NCET, and CSIR UGC NET exams. The UGC NET exam for the June 2024 session will now be conducted online from August 21 to September 4. Previously, the exam was conducted in a pen-and-paper format but was cancelled due to a paper leak incident.
This incident has resulted in rescheduled dates for the CSIR UGC NET and NCET exams. The Joint CSIR UGC NET will now take place from July 25 to 27, while the revised date for the NCET exam is July 10.
Earlier, the NTA conducted the UGC NET June 2024 exam on June 18 in two shifts across 317 cities, with over 9 lakh candidates appearing for the exam. However, the exam was cancelled on June 19.
The Ministry of Education cancelled the exam the day after it was held, citing concerns about potential compromise of exam integrity. Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan later confirmed that the exam paper had been leaked on the darknet and circulated via Telegram.
UGC NET Exam 2024 June Session
The University Grants Commission-National Eligibility Test is a national-level exam administered by the National Testing Agency. This exam is conducted twice a year in 83 UGC NET subjects to determine the eligibility of Indian nationals for Assistant Professor, JRF and PhD admissions. This year, it was conducted on June 18 for which 11,21,225 candidates registered and 9,08,580 appeared in the examination.
UGC NET New Exam Date 2024
The revised UGC NET Exam dates for 2024 are August 21 to September 4, and it will be conducted in online mode. According to the official statement by the NTA, “The UGC NET June 2024 cycle examination was earlier held in Pen & paper (offline) mode. However, it will now be held in the Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode.” The exam will be held in multiple shifts and the admit card for the same will be released 3 to 4 days prior the exam date.
NCET Exam Date 2024
The National Common Entrance Test will now take place on July 10 in Computer-Based mode. Initially scheduled for June 12, the exam could not be conducted at all designated centers due to a technical glitch. This exam is jointly conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) and the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), the National Common Entrance Test (NCET). Candidates seeking admission to the 4-Year Integrated Teacher Education Programme (ITEP) across Central/State Universities/Institutions must clear this exam.
What is Joint CSIR UGC NET
CSIR UGC NET is a national-level exam conducted twice a year to determine the eligibility of Indian nationals for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), Assistant Professor and admission to PhD courses. It covers Chemical Sciences, Earth, Atmospheric, Ocean and Planetary Sciences, Life Sciences, Mathematical Sciences, and Physical Sciences.
CSIR UGC NET Exam Date
CSIR NET exam, originally set for June 25-27, 2024, have been rescheduled to take place from July 25 to 27, 2024. The admit card for the same will be released on the official website three days prior to the exam date.
