University Grants Commission invites applications for the award of 1000 Post Graduate Scholarship for professional Courses for SC & ST candidates for the year 2010‐ 2011.
Objective
The objective of the Scheme is to provide financial assistance to SC/ ST candidates to pursue postgraduate level studies in Professional subjects like Engineering & Technology, Management, and Pharmacy etc. on regular basis only at recognized Indian Universities/ Institutions/ Colleges.

Eligibility Criteria
- The candidate must have obtained Graduate degree in the relevant subject and obtained admission at Postgraduate level for regular full time course in any of the Professional subject in a recognized University/ Institution/ College.
- Candidates pursuing post graduate course in professional subjects by correspondence or by Distance Education mode are not eligible to receive financial assistance under this scheme.
- Age (as on 1 July 2011): Maximum 45 years for male applicants; 50 years for female candidates. In exceptional cases, the age may be relaxed.
Amount of Scholarship
The tenure of award is for two/three years depending upon tenure of the postgraduate course.

How to Apply
Interested eligible candidates should submit applications through online mode. Applicant will be required to upload scanned copies of the following documents while applying online:
- Caste Certificate (SC/ ST)
- Age Proof Certificate. (e.g. Birth Certificate, School Leaving Certificate etc)
- Graduate Degree Marksheet/ Certificate
- Physical Disability Certificate (if applicable)
Note: Candidate will not be able to submit her application unless above mentioned documents are uploaded.
