The Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) has started the registration process from April 1 for admissions to Classes 1 to 12 (except class 11) and Balvatika Classes-1,2,3 for the academic session 2024-25. The registration for Class 1 will be done Online and continue until 5 pm on April 15. Online form will be available on the website https://kvsonlineadmission.kvs.gov.in . The children must have attained a minimum age of six years on April 1, 2024, for admission in Class 1. 

 

The following documents will be required for filling of the application form:

* A valid Indian mobile number,

* A valid email address,

* A digital or scanned photograph of the child seeking admission (JPEG file of size at most 256KB),

* A scanned copy of the child’s certificate of age proof (JPEG or PDF file of size at most 256KB),

* Details of government certificate in case of economically weak section, if applicable.

* Transfer details of parent whose service credentials will be used in the application.


Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan has strongly advised parents NOT to submit multiple applications to the same Kendriya Vidyalaya for the same child. If multiple registration forms are submitted for the same child in the same Kendriya Vidyalaya, only the last application will be considered in class 1 admission process. In a double shift Kendriya Vidyalaya, each shift will be treated as a separate Kendriya Vidyalaya for admission purposes.


Mere registration and submission of the application form DOES NOT guarantee admission to any child. Admissions will be offered by individual Kendriya Vidyalayas, depending on available seats and as per Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangthan guidelines after examining application details and originals of all required documents. 


After closing of process of Class 1 registration process, the sequence of conduct of lottery by each Kendriya Vidyalaya will be as under:

1) RTE Lottery

2) All CwSN Lotteries

3) CAT-I

4) CAT-II

5) SC

6) ST

7) OBC

8) CAT-III

9) CAT-IV

10) CAT-V

11) CAT -VI (If applicable)


The first waiting list of selected candidates will be declared on April 19, second on April 29 and third on May 8. The last date of admission for class 1 will be June 29. 


The documents required at the time of class 1 admission are as below:

* Proof of Residence.

* Passport size photo of the child.

* Certificate of age proof in the form of a birth certificate issued by the authority competent to register births. This will include certificates from Notified Area Council / Municipality / Municipal Corporation extract about the date of birth from records of Village Panchayat, Military Hospital and service records of Defence personnel. The original certificate of date of birth should be returned to the parent after completion verification of verification process.

* A certificate from the civil surgeon/rehabilitation centre or any other competent authority defined by the GOI certifying that she/he is a child with Special Needs, wherever applicable. In case, where the disability of the child can be visually seen by the Principal, the child may be accepted as a child with Special Needs, even without a certificate. However, the parent may be advised to obtain the required certificate from the Competent Authority and submit the same to the school as early as possible. 

* A service certificate showing the number of transfers during the preceding 7 years duly signed and stamped by the head of office bearing the name, designation and other relevant particulars in block letters, wherever applicable. 

* A certificate of retirement for uniformed Defence employees, wherever applicable. 

* A certificate that the child belongs to the Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe/EWS/OBC (Non-Creamy Layer)/BPL wherever applicable, issued by the Competent Authority in concerned State Government/Union Government, , wherever applicable. If the certificate is not available in the name of the child, then the certificate in respect of either of the parents may be accepted initially, for the purpose of admission. However, the certificate in respect of the child has to be submitted within a period of maximum three months from the date of admission.


Offline registrations for class 2 and above will conclude on April 10. The age required for admission in class 2 and above is as follows:

* Class 2 -7 years but less than 09 years of age

* Class 3 -8 years but less than 10 years of age.

* Class 4 - 8 years but less than 10 years of age.

* Class 5 - 9 years but less than 11 years of age.

* Class 6 - 10 years but less than 12 years of age.

* Class 7 - 11 years but less than 13 years of age.

* Class 8 - 12 years but less than 14 years of age.

* Class 9 - 13 years but less than 15 years of age.

* Class 10 - 14 years but less than 16 years of age.


For admission to classes 2 to 8, there will be no admission test. However, for admission to Class 9, an admission test will be conducted. Admission test will be of 100 marks comprising Hindi, English, Mathematics, Social Science and Science each of 20 marks. Students seeking admission in class 9 must secure minimum 33% marks aggregate to qualify. Students belonging to SC/ST/CwSN will be eligible

for admission on securing 25% in aggregate. 


Last date of admission for class 2 and above will be June 29. 


For admission to Class 11, there is no age limit provided for the student seeking admission in the year of passing Class 10 examination. In the same way, there will be no upper and lower age limit for admission to class 12 provided there has been no break in the continuous study of the student after passing class 11. The maximum age limit can be relaxed by two years in case of Children with Special Needs by the Kendriya Vidyalaya Principal.


Admission in different streams i.e. Science, Commerce & Humanities will be based on merit upto maximum 40 strength in case of Kendriya Vidyalaya students as per availability of streams in the Kendriya Vidyalaya. Choice of stream will be taken from students with parent consent before declaration of merit list. Stream will be allotted on the basis of marks obtained in Class X CBSE Board Examination. Once the seats are exhausted in one stream, students have to take admission in the other available stream in the same Kendriya Vidyalaya. Undertaking is to be obtained from students before finalization of merit list by Kendriya Vidyalaya.


Furthermore, registration for Class 11 admission will begin immediately after the announcement of Class 10 board exam results.


Kendriya Vidyalaya registrations for Balvatika (Nursery) levels 1, 2 and 3 have also started from April 1. Last date of Offline Registration for Balvatika-1, 2 and 3 will be April 15. The age of the child seeking admission in Balvatika 1 should be 3 years, in Balvatika 2 should be 4 years and in Balvatika 3 should be 5 years. The first provisional list of selected and waitlisted registered candidates will be declared on April 19, second on April 29 and third on May 8. Last date of admission for Balvatika classes will be June 29.
