UP Board Class 12 Animal Husbandry Syllabus 2024-25: Keeping the Board examination in mind, the Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (UPMSP) has released its syllabus for classes 10 and 12. It has also released the syllabus for classes 9 and 11. The syllabus for various subjects has been made available on the official website of the UP Board, upmsp.edu.in. Students can download the syllabus from the website or from the school section of Jagran Josh. Here we have provided the syllabus for Class 12 Animal Husbandry which has emerged as a popular choice among students.

Husbandry means ‘to care for’ and animal husbandry is the management of animals. It deals with the domestication and rearing of animals for various purposes. Animal Husbandry is the source of livelihood for many farmers.

UP Board Class 12 Animal Husbandry Course Structure

According to the syllabus, the course structure includes sections such as study of description of major breeds of animals, general information about milk products like curd, ice cream etc., general information on animal breeding, objectives and methods, and major common medicines and their methods of use in veterinary practice.

Under the practical examination, there are sections including calculating the age of cows, bulls, buffaloes, questions on market prices of animals of different categories, questions on market prices of animal feed, knowledge of various records maintained on dairy farms. For the practical exam of individual students, the teacher/principal of schools designated as centers, will act as internal examiner and give 50% marks to students. The remaining 50% marks will be in the hands of an external examiner.

Both the external and internal assessments will be of 25 marks each. The former will consist of diet calculations (10 marks), animal management (8 marks) and oral test (7 marks), while the latter will include identification of external organs (5 marks), diet calculations (5 marks), identification of medicines and equipment (8 marks) and practice book (7 marks).
