The UP Board of High School and Intermediate Education, Allahabad announced the UP Board Intermediate result on 6 June 2011. Gyan Prakash Varma of Sri Sai Madhyamik Vidyalaya, Barabanki, Uttar Pradesh emerged as an overall topper with 94.4% marks. The intermediate examinations were held between 16 March 2011 and 22 April 2011.

Sanjay Mohan, Director Secondary Education, informed that 80.11% students passed the exams in 2011 compared to 80.54 pass percentage in 2010. A total of 20,63,015 students had registered for the UP Board Intermediate examinations of which 19,84,068 took the test. Among them only 15,90,124 candidates cleared the exam. Arpita Pandey from Lucknow secured the first rank with 93.2% marks among the girl students. 

The maximum pass percentage of 91.93% has been reported from Amethi district followed by Maharajganj with 91.78% and Ambedkarnagar with 91.24%. The overall pass percentage of boys was 70.53 per cent, while for girls it was 90.76 per cent.
