Educational Qualification: Graduation + ‘A’ level certificate from DOEACC or its equivalent qualification OR Science Graduate in Computer Science OR Science Graduate in IT OR Science Graduate in Electronics with PGDCA or its equivalent.
(Candidates appearing for their final year examination are not eligible to apply)

Selection Procedure:
For Computer Operator Grade A: Selection will be done on the basis of candidates’ performance in the written exam and computer typing test.

Written Test: The Objective type written test will be of 200 marks and have questions on General Knowledge, Mental Ability & Reasoning and Computer knowledge.

Computer Typing Test: Candidates qualifying the written test will be called for Computer Typing Test. These candidates will be required to bring original documents for verification, failing which they will not be allowed to appear for the computer typing test.

In the computer typing test, candidates will be required type a paragraph in English at a typing speed of 40 words per minute and in Hindi with a speed of 25 words per minute. Candidates will be provided an In-script Keyboard based on Unicode for the Hindi Typing test.

Merit list of selected candidates will be prepared on the basis of combined marks obtained by them in the written test and Computer typing test.

For Computer  Programmer Grade 2: Selection will be done on the basis of candidates’ performance in the written exam.

The Objective type written test will have two sections – Section 1 and Section 2. Each section will be of 100 marks – total marks for the test 200 marks. Section 1 will have questions based on Mental Ability & Reasoning and Information Technology while section 2 will have questions related to Computer programming.

Merit list of qualified candidates will be prepared on the basis of marks obtained by them in the written test. These candidates will be required to produce original documents for verification, when asked for, to be eligible to be considered for appointment, failing which they will not be considered for appointment. .

Application Fees: Non-refundable application fee of Rs.200 has to be paid using the E-challan for fee payment available with the online registration form.

Candidates are required to take print out of the fee payment challan  for either State Bank of India (SBI) or Punjab National Bank (PNB). On selecting the Bank to deposit the fees, the E-challan of concerned Bank SBI / PNB will be displayed with Candidate’s Registration No., Name, Date of Birth and Fee Amount printed on it. The candidates should visit any branch of the selected bank along with the E-challan, deposit the fees, collect a copy of E-challan and retain it for future reference. While collecting the E-challan copy, Candidate’s should ensure that the Bank’s transaction ID / Journal No. and Date are clearly visible on it.

How to Apply: Interested eligible candidates can apply online through the official website of UP Police Recruitment and Promotion Board (PRPB) from 13 May 2013 till 12 June 2013, , after which the link will be disabled. On-line registration process has three stages:

First stage: Basic Registration form will display on clicking ‘Candidate Registration’. Candidates should fill in the form and 'submit' it. On successful submission, a Registration Slip will appear on the screen, candidates should take its print-out along with that of the fee payment challan of either SBI or PNB. With this first stage of registration is complete.

Second stage: Candidates should deposit the fees using the fee payment challan in the any branch of the bank, for which they have taken the print out of the fee payment challan.

Third stage: Candidate should re-login after 1400 hours the next day i.e . the day after depositing the fee in the Bank, fill in the remaining form and submit it. After submitting the application, candidate should take its print-out and retain it for reference.

After filling all particulars there is provision to preview details before final submission of application form by clicking on “View Application form”. If all details are satisfactory, candidate should click on “Submit” button and take its printout.

No certificates / mark sheets are required to be uploaded along with the 'online application form'.
